We just launched pzizz for iPhone!
Apple has just approved the new pzizz for iPhone App!
It’s available from the iTunes Store NOW and it costs just $2.99 - the same as the other so-called ‘apps’ that play a single relaxation track.
http://itunes.com/app/pzizzrelax
Like the desktop version, “pzizz relax” is capable of generating more than 100 BILLION combinations of soundtrack - live from your iPhone / iPod Touch.
Because of this, there’s no longer any need to create and export your soundtracks in advance - you just press “Start” and get a new track each time!
There’s a desperately simple interface and we hope you enjoy it on your iPhone / iPod Touch as much as we do!
If you’re a fan of pzizz, please take a moment to post a review on the iTunes Store after placing your order - we need to get some momentum going in order to stay visible on iTunes and your review will make a huge difference!

Happy pzizzing, everyone!

Awesome, now when’s the sleep version coming!

As soon as possible! Hopefully within a month!
Pzizz is currently ranked #1 for paid apps in the “medical” section of the app store. I’m curious as to why it ended up in the “medical” section and not the “lifestyle” or “health and fitness” sections. Does it have something to do with the disclaimers that I read when first launching the app?

Hi Dustin
We decided to put it in “Medical” because that’s where all the other relaxation / sleep apps were!
“Lifestyle” seemed like a good choice, until we noticed it was full of “Bikini Girl” apps!
I\’ve just purchased the iPhone app. How can I make it so that it doesn\’t wake me when the program has finished? I have ipod speakers beside my bed, so I just want to use it to sleep. Another option would be to go to sleep, and have a new pzizz wake me up again the next morning at a specified time.

Hi Alan
I’m sorry for any confusion, but ‘pzizz relax’ is the same as the pzizz ‘energizer’ module - just with a different name. It’s not designed to help you to go to sleep - it’s designed to help you to relax, de-stress and re-energize - and then make sure you wake up and don’t miss anything important in your day!
‘pzizz sleep’ is in the works and we’ll have it out to you as soon as possible - with no alarm at the end unless you specify one!
A friend tweeted about this app and I bought it on the basis of the absurd glee he was demonstrating. I am now beginning to understand what led him to the level of excitement.
I was wondering what the core differences were between the apps and the desktop versions? The descriptions seem mainly identical but I’d imagine the desktop software contains a wider range of sound options?

Hi J-P
Thanks for your feedback - I’m so happy to hear that you’re starting to understand the “absurd glee” that so many people experience when using pzizz!
The difference between the desktop version and the iPhone / iPod Touch version is simply that the latter isn’t capable of exporting MP3s that you can later burn to CD; it only plays ‘live’ tracks!
The tracks that are generated in the iPhone version are exactly the same as those generated by the desktop version - there’s nothing left out!
Hope this helps?
All the best
edward
I’m eagerly awaiting the sleep mode version.
One request for the relax mode- can you make it possible to vary the alarm- either the sound itself, the volume, or to just disengage it?
edward's reply:
August 23rd, 2009 at 7:47 am
Yup, giving an option of different alarms is on our “to do” list for ‘pzizz relax’!
Great app! Glad that it’s finally available for iPhone/iPod Touch. Would love to see a ‘deluxe’ version with the Sleep option added and the ability to change the picture on the player screen.

Hi Ron
Don’t worry, we’re working on ‘pzizz sleep’ and you can rest assured that I won’t sleep until you’re able to!
We’ll be making it possible for you to choose a different background wallpaper in the next update!

Hi,
Downloaded the pzizz app today on the strength of some very favourable tweets. Have only used it twice so far but already i’m I
pressed! From what I’ve been reading things will only get better as I use it more so I’d like to say thanks for this amazing app.
One question though, do you have any plans to release a sleep module for the iPhone version?
Kind regards,
Graham

Hi Graham
Thanks for your message and for joining our family of happy pzizzers!
Yes, we’ll be making some lovely changes in the future and we’re only just getting started!
‘pzizz sleep’ is in the works and we’ll be working flat out until launch day!
All the best

I just bought your new Iphone version of Pzizz. Nice work! I already own 2 of the original hardware Pzizz’s, so the Iphone version was a total no-brainer.
I guess my original Pzizz’s may well become collector’s items. I remember when I first got them how impressed I was (still am) with the technology itself and the whole package. That was some very slick design, even down to the packaging. In fact, I would rank it right up there with Apple’s high end product design.
I think the Iphone app is priced too low though. I would have easily paid a lot more. I think you could easily get at least $4.95 for it with no appreciable decrease in sales. It’s certainly worth more than $2.95. For new users, you just need to really get across the core concept (your magic) which is the technology that randomizes multiple audio elements for a unique experience each time. That’s just plain clever.

Hi Greg
Thanks for your wonderful comments - much appreciated!
We’re huge fans of Apple’s design here at pzizz, and when we decided to create the original pzizz handheld device we really wanted to create something that we would want to own!
Thanks for your thoughts on the pricing. However, given the current global economic mess, we wanted to make sure that people who are having a tough time of it can get the benefit of pzizz without having to worry about the cost!
All the best

Love the app, but I have one essiential request. It would be wayore soothing and easier to fall asleep to if it had the option of hearing a female voice. Call me crazy but the deeper set male voice just doesn’t seem to fit. It’s hard not to pay attention to it.
edward's reply:
August 24th, 2009 at 10:06 am
Hi Jonathan
Thanks for your feedback!
We’d love to offer a female voice version, but we’ve had problems finding the right person to record it. As soon as we do, we will!
All the best
edward
Congrats on the release of the app and the OVERWHELMINGLY positive reviews it is getting on the App Store! Been using Pzizz for years and this is the implementation I always wanted, but couldn’t get after the hardware units went out of production. Great job on the app, it is a perfect version at a great price!
Now just get the sleep module there!

Hi Jason
Thanks for your message of support - much appreciated!
I’ve been delighted with the positive reviews we’ve been getting, but we could always do with more - it’s easy to get lost in the sea of apps that are on the iTunes Store!
We’d love to be able to create more modules, but it’s expensive to create them and the only way to do so is to get pzizz seen by as many people as possible - and this means trying to get it pushed on to the front page of the App Store in “What’s Hot” or “New and Noteworthy”!
All help MOST gratefully received!
I love this thing - but please, please, next version, offer choice to turn alarm OFF? Thanks so much for great program!

Hi Zanne
Thanks for your message and for your feedback!
We plan to make it possible to choose different alarm sounds in the future, but not sure that turning off the alarm is a good idea as I don’t want anyone to fall asleep and miss an important meeting!

Thanks for your message - so happy that you’re enjoying pzizz so much - that’s great news!
Happy pzizzing!

Love it! I work as a security guard at a museum. During my lunch I take 20 minutes out of my day to relax with Pzizz. I always come back feeling refreshed, rejuvenated & focused. I look foward to my lunch hour now, even more. Very nice voice. Would also like to have an option to have a female voice. Thanks for helping me get re-centered

Hi Joaquin
I’m so happy to hear how much pzizz is helping you to during your day - it’s perfect that you’re able to take just 20 minutes during lunch to refocus and rejuvenate yourself!
We’re actually talking to someone now about possibly recording a female voice version - and I’ll be sure to keep you all up to speed if things develop further.
Until then, best wishes and happy pzizzing!

Great prog, but some of the music feels like you are in a horror movie Is there anyway to remove these discordant harmonies? Thanks Kevin
edward's reply:
October 12th, 2009 at 4:05 am
Hi Kevin
Sorry you don’t like some parts of the music, but there’s no way to remove them, sorry.
Most people find that, even if they don’t like some parts, they still remain incredibly effective! Matthew and Paul (our music director) designed them especially in this way.
All the best

I’ve been following Pzizz for a while and planning to purchase soon — however, I don’t have an iPhone/iPod.
Am I the only one wondering about the price difference here? $59 for the desktop app — but just $2.99 for the iPhone/iPod app that does *exactly the same thing*???
I’m excited about Pzizz, but really thrown off by the huge discrepancy. Is the desktop app price coming down? Can someone from Pzizz explain for me?
Thank you!
edward's reply:
October 12th, 2009 at 4:00 am
We introduced ‘pzizz relax’ at the price point of $2.99, because we wanted to make pzizz available to the widest group possible, without price being a barrier to entry.
Matthew and I recently realised that we’ve been working on pzizz for 10 years now, and we’ll be doing something special for the desktop version soon to celebrate!
How about an option to turn off the alarm at the end of the nap
edward's reply:
October 12th, 2009 at 4:07 am
Hi Vince
The new update (due out this week) will allow you to choose from different (more gentle!) alarms. There’s no plan at the moment to remove the alarm because this is a power napping tool - it’s not designed to be used for sleeping!
All the best

I know it says that it plays a different track everytime but ive used this app over 15 times and it plays the exact same thing every single time. I’ve even used it at different lengths it just always goes in the same order. I dont know if there is a bug in the app but it is kind of irritating when one of the major selling points is that it is never the same and mine is always the same.
edward's reply:
October 12th, 2009 at 4:03 am
Hi Jon
Thanks for your feedback. I’m really surprised that you say that it’s always exactly the same - because that’s not something I’m hearing from anyone else.
There are a multitude of different voice and music files. These are randomly mixed up each time you listen so it’s never exactly the same.
Think of pzizz as being like a remix of a record by a single band, as opposed to different songs being recorded by different artists!
If you start pzizz a few times and listen to the introductory phrases, I’m sure you’ll find the words spoken are different each time. The same thing happens all the way through the tracks.
Happy pzizzing!

Just got the app. Love it. Will there be an option to disable the phone from ringing through? I\\\’d love a full xxminutes without interupt. CK

Hi Chuck
Thanks for your message and for your feedback. I love that you’re loving pzizz!
Unfortunately, there isn’t an Apple approved way of allowing you to put the phone into airplane mode from within the pzizz app, and my developers have told me that doing so is likely to cause Apple to not allow pzizz through the approval process.
If and when Apple changes this, you can be sure we’ll implement it - I’d love to be able to use this feature also!
e
do you already know when pzizz sleep will be released?
edward's reply:
October 19th, 2009 at 11:03 pm
Hi Maria
We’re expecting to get ‘pzizz sleep’ in to Apple by the end of the month, but we understand from other developers that it’s taking up to two week for applications to be approved. So, it might be mid-November before it’s available…
Unfortunately, we’ve got no control over this aspect of things!
All the best

Hi, i’ve been using this app pretty much every day for the last month or so, and have to say, it’s BRILLIANT!!! i’ve always struggled with napping in the day (sounds ridiculous when you think what’s required!?) and this has made all the difference!!
i downloaded several of the other nap-apps, but they’ve been massively out-classed by Pzizz!
…can’t wait for the sleep version to come out!
cheers guys!
