With the worldwide economic recession in our midst, the study of stress has become even more important. With stress affecting all major systems within the body, the dearth of stress management skills includes a huge impact on health and well being.

Acknowledge stress early to fight it promptly. According to several medical experts, the key to fighting stress is understanding it. You need to acknowledge its symptoms so you can take action to control it before it controls you. Physiological responses are the best to spot. If your heart rate and blood pressure has increased, you palms are sweaty and your pulse rate is racing, then you’re most likely experiencing stress. For many individuals, spotting the primary signs of stress is tough, particularly after they are so engaged with the stressor. Hence, stress monitoring tools became necessary in aiding stress management.

Stress Monitors. Through these tools, you’ll live stress real time. Currently you catch stress at its earliest, even when you haven’t felt it yet! Here are the existing tools used to live stress:

1. Stress assessment tests:
Have you ever ever taken an IQ test online? If yes, then you almost certainly know what a stress assessment test is. It’s a series of 10 to fifteen queries that were designed to identify your current level of stress. Some of the foremost widespread stress assessment tests were devised by Mayo Clinic, MSN and AOL. These tests are interactive tools and are offered to anyone who wishes to use them.

This condition, otherwise known as sleep hyperhidrois or nocturnal sweating, will disturb the sleep of the sufferer and cause extreme body temperature changes.

Excessive sleeping sweat can affect people of all ages and gender. Different people experiencing sleep hyperhidrosis may experience severe sweating in different parts of the body, most notably in the underarms, face and feet.

There are a variety of causes of excessive sleeping sweat. They can include diet, hormonal changes, or other illnesses. Foods like spicy food, coffee or alcohol are known to cause excessive night sweating. Menopause and diseases, like diabetes, can also make you sweat at night.

Excessive sleeping sweat has been known to cause other problems if not treated early. During heavy sweating, the body loses a large amount of water and salt, which can be dangerous as it might lead to other complexities.

Patients are convinced that they have some biochemical imbalance or cancer. Doctors usually opt for more likely explanations such as stress, lifestyle and lack of sleep but hormonal imbalances are easier to treat than getting patients to change their lifestyle. Now a new study finds some teenagers get only four hours a night, and their school performance is suffering. So pupils are being given sleep lessons.

Poor sleep accounts for a lot of ill health and behavioural problems. No one has been able to really explain why we sleep. Some think it gives the body a chance to recover from the day’s activities but we know sleep is essential to maintain normal skills such as speech, memory, innovative and flexible thinking

Science Daily recently reported in this article that certain sleep disorders are linked to behavior issues in kids. The study showed that children with sleep disordered breathing such as snoring or sleep apnea and who were also overweight, did not sleep enough, or had another sleep problem such as insomnia, were more likely to have behavior issues. More than half of the participants with sleep disordered breathing who were studied were either overweight or at risk for being overweight (see this post about the link between sleep and obesity). In addition 36% were identified as “short sleepers” and almost half had another sleep problem diagnosed in addition to the snoring or sleep apnea. “Forty-seven percent had a history of behavioral problems and 23 percent had a reported diagnosis of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).” Researchers were surprised that the strongest predictor of behavior problems was not the severity of the sleep apnea or snoring, but the presence of another sleep problem such as insomnia.
